The Salt Spring Island Farmers Institute (SSIFI) was founded in 1895 on 10 acres of pastoral land. It is a cherished community venue with serene fields and mature orchards. and a heritage museum where you can learn about the rich local history.
Everybody is welcome to camp on-site in the lush meadow. Camper vans and RVs allowed. Potable water, washrooms and shower facilities located nearby.
There are expansive grounds for activities, music jams, and conversations
Facilities include a stage, exhibition hall, picnic area, seating, stalls and parking. Meals will be prepared on-site. Please volunteer with meal preparation and cleanup at least once during the event.
Accessibility
Venue Access | The organizing team will be setting up camp on Friday morning until we officially open at noon. If you are a camper and feel like you need extra time to set up your camp, we are happy to provide access as an accomodation. Please wait until at least 9.30am. |
Charging | Recharge motorized wheelchairs and other medical equipment. inside Exhibition Hall, at the Volunteer Center or BBQ Area. Bring all cords and accessories needed to charge your devices. Standard 110-volt plugs. |
Distances | Activities will be held within 1.5 acres of the overall property for the event. |
Service Dogs | We welcome service dogs on-leash. Please leave pets at home. |
