The Salt Spring Island Farmers Institute (SSIFI) was founded in 1895 on 10 acres of pastoral land. It is a cherished community venue with serene fields and mature orchards. and a heritage museum where you can learn about the rich local history.

Everybody is welcome to camp on-site in the lush meadow. Camper vans and RVs allowed. Potable water, washrooms and shower facilities located nearby.

There are expansive grounds for activities, music jams, and conversations

Facilities include a stage, exhibition hall, picnic area, seating, stalls and parking.   Meals will be prepared on-site. Please volunteer with meal preparation and cleanup at least once during the event.

Accessibility

Venue Access The organizing team will be setting up camp on Friday morning until we officially open at noon. If you are a camper and feel like you need extra time to set up your camp, we are happy to provide access as an accomodation. Please wait until at least 9.30am.
Charging Recharge motorized wheelchairs and other medical equipment. inside Exhibition Hall, at the Volunteer Center or BBQ Area. Bring all cords and accessories needed to charge your devices. Standard 110-volt plugs.
Distances Activities will be held within 1.5 acres of the overall property for the event.
Service Dogs We welcome service dogs on-leash. Please leave pets at home.

Terrain and Wildlife Navigable, mostly flat and grassy. Main Hall, lower level restrooms and showers, camping areas on grass. Deer wander the area
