Why is it called âCascadiaâ?
The term Cascadia is a shorthand for the cross-border network of people in the Pacific Northwest who share an interest in place-based, decentralized technologies. It reflects a cultural, geological and ecological affinity that spans from British Columbia through the Pacific Northwest, where communities are exploring how local contextâland, governance, history, and infrastructureâcan shape resilient digital systems. Our use of âCascadiaâ acknowledges shared curiosity and collaboration across borders, rather than any political stance.
