Get ready for our busiest month so far! From our regular meetups to world class conferences, this March we have at least ten (10!) DWebYVR and adjacent events going on.

DWebYVR Writing Club

The regular Sunday writing club is happening this month on March 1st and March 15th. A two hour writing session to work on all those writing projects that never get the time they deserve!

DWeb Camp Cascadia 2026 call for participation

DWeb Camp Cascadia 2026 is officially happening from July 30th to August 3rd. Join us online on March 3rd at 5pm PT to help create an amazing camp! This is a meeting for anyone considering contributing to camp as a participant and volunteer, with the opportunity to step into a steward role.

Presentation: Hundred Rabbits Artist Collective

Hundred Rabbits is an artist collective that documents low-tech solutions with the hope of building a more resilient future. They will be presenting on Friday, March 6th. 1:30-4:30pm at the University of Victoria. A DWebYVR contingent will make journey to the island for the event. Join our signal group to learn more.

Community Platform Design Jam

As tools like Discord begin to implement high-surveillance tactics, perhaps it’s time for a rethink of what the real jobs-to-be-done and motives-to-be-met are for members and stewards of communities. On Monday, March 9th at Z-Space and online, we will have an open jam session to map needs, play with ideas, and imagine together.

March DWebYVR Planning Meeting

Our next planning meeting will be on Thursday, March 12th. As always, we will discuss and plan upcoming events. Thinking of making something happen? Put it on the agenda

Z-Space Electronics Bazaar

Join us for our second new and old electronics sale on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at Z-Space! Bring in your cables, computer cases, and other electronic curios.

Put items you bring up for sale, trade for other fine items, and we'll redistribute electronics gear, old, new, and slightly used, back to new enjoyers. We'll also arrange for a pick up of any remaining items to go to the e-waste recycling center.

Code BEAM Vancouver

Code BEAM Lite Vancouver, the Conference for Erlang, Elixir & Gleam Developers in Canada is happening from March 22nd to 24th 2026, and we'd love to see you there!

DWebYVR reading group - March

On Wednesday, March 25, join us for our discussion of the second part of Shannon Valors The AI Mirror. You do not need to have read the whole thing to attend. We will also decide on our next reading!

ATmosphere Conf 2026

ATmosphereConf is the global AT Protocol community conference. AtProto is the open, decentralized protocol behind Bluesky and many other interoperable social media apps.

The conference will happen from March 26th to 29th 2026 at the UBC campus. Come early for two days of extended events, deep dives, and local activities, then gather for two full conference days with topics for everyone.

We can just do things.
