DWebYVR January 2026 events
Happy new year everyone! I hope you all had a relaxing holiday. I was expecting January to be rather quiet but it turns out we are starting the year with at least five events already!
DWebYVR planning meeting
Our first planning meeting of the year will take place on January 14th. Want to get involved or have a project you want to take on? Join us to start planning the year ahead!
Warm Data Lab Cascadia in Vancouver
A Warm Data Lab invites slowing down and noticing the connective threads between us. It’s a chance to share your stories, hear from others, and perhaps discover something new along the way. You don’t need to bring anything but your openness and willingness to be part of a conversation that unfolds in unexpected ways. Happening on January 18th at the Coal Harbour Community centre.
Meetup Meetup 2
Meetup organizers deserve a meetup about running meetups! Join us on January 19th for an evening of discussion on running meetups and connecting with other organizers. This event is for anyone currently running Meetups or actively interested in organizing one.
dwebbers workshop (Seattle)
Our friends at DWeb Seattle are kicking the year off with a DWeb workshop on January 20th. Do you want to learn and get inspired about the DWeb tech? Do you need feedback on ideas or projects you're working on? This is likely the place for you to be!
DWebYVR reading group
On January 21st, join us for our discussion of the second half of David Graeber's The Utopia of Rules (Wikipedia, VPL). You do not need to have read the whole thing to attend. If the reading sounds interesting to you, please come and hang out and share in our conversation around it.
For future events, follow our Luma calendar, join our local Signal group and the global DWeb discord and subscribe to our newsletter here!
